The Jets Are Forever Cursed And There Is Nothing We Can Do About It
I feel for you Jets fans. As a fan of Aaron Rodgers and a newly found Jets fan (no longer a fan until next season), I feel for you guys. I mean you have one of the best defenses in the entire NFL, you finally have an ELITE QB, and you have young talent that could grow into superstars. Then with the blink of your eyes, the season is over. The sad thing about this is that it is not even the first time this has happened. I mean what has made your franchise this cursed? Like why do you deserve this. I can relate as I am a Bears fan and we have been nothing short of horrible for the past four decades, but you people cannot catch a single break.
I don’t want to say it was bound to happen with how horrible of an offensive line you have, but you knew it was a problem when on each of the 3 drop backs Rodgers got on the team this year he was pressured. You can’t have an offensive line be that bad when you have a 39-year-old taking snaps. As good as a team this was there were its flaws and there was no escaping something like this. You can’t expect a QB like Rodgers to still be his 28-year-old self and run away from pressure in the pocket. I’m sure he is still in good enough shape to do that, but he is competing against 25 year olds. I am in awe that the GM and coach did not sit down and think about this prior to getting Rodgers. All time mess up. I mean the Jets really found a way to kill their star QB in a matter of seconds. I still cannot believe that actually happened.
All this being said, I really do hope Rodgers does comeback next season because I am not ready to see that era of QB’s officially be done. It was a sad day bad day when I saw that happen live. If this team decides to spend real money this offseason on positions that really matter, I feel like there is no doubt that Rodgers comes back and balls out. Potential Super Bowl trip inbound? I guess we are going to have to wait a full calendar year to find out.
